    I am disappointed… to a degree. I read the Etsy add that states, ” Damascus Steel True 512 layers”, “Ships from Texas”, “local seller”. Actually, shipped from Pakistan (not stated on Etsy site), when looking closer at seller’s shop states “Free Shipping from Pakistan”. I am disappointed that I thought I was getting this from a Texas based artist, shame on Etsy. Does not appear to be true Damascus as the blade in the handle shows no marking that indicate 512 layers of steel, looks to be etched…disappointed… They do appear to be hand forged but not 512 layers of steel. They are beautiful set of knives just disappointed I didn’t get what I thought I was getting. My husband is a knife collector, so I thought this would be a great addition and Damascus at that.

    1. Knives are terribly dull (difficulty cutting carrots)
    2. Numerous nicks and dings on the edge
    3. 2 of the 5 were warped or bowed
    4. They are painted which had drips or puddles
    5. When contacted the seller, told to sharpen the nicks out- but it would take a grinder to work them out.
    6. Yeah. The look good kudos for that.

    Got these for my husband for Christmas, and he loves them. They are not from the United States, they ship from over seas, but it was still very fast shipping. They came well oiled. Hand forged knives do require special care, I wish those instructions had been included, but we did the research online. All in all, very pleased with the product
